However, when setting out to do anything, its always worth having some idea of how you are going to do it. The following points might help you to flesh out those ideas:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>What\u2019s the end state?<\/strong> Having an idea \u2013 even a vague idea \u2013 of what you\u2019d like to finish up with at the end of the project may help you get there.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Do you have the equipment?<\/strong> Are you going to use a scanner and\/or a camera for digitisation? Do you have a computer? You will need to have such equipment in place when you start the project.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Check the net:<\/strong> If you\u2019re unsure about what equipment is available, what it\u2019s possible to achieve, or how to do things, always remember that it&#8217;s worth checking the internet for answers.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Do you intend to have an index?<\/strong> It\u2019s worth deciding on this right at the beginning of the project because, if you have an index, it will be central to your activities. It\u2019s certainly not essential, but if you\u2019re thinking about having one, this\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.pwofc.com\/ofc\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/01\/Photo-Index-Template-v2.0-21Feb2016.xlsx\">Photo Index Template<\/a> or this <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pwofc.com\/ofc\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/09\/Memento-Index-Template-v1.0-26Sep2017.xlsx\">Memento Index Template<\/a> may provide useful starting points.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Check U4.4:<\/strong> Don\u2019t forget to keep in mind the general points outlined in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pwofc.com\/ofc\/2017\/09\/24\/u4-4-points-to-bear-in-mind\/\">Unit 4.4<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Write down the plan:<\/strong> No matter how vague your plan is, it\u2019s worth writing it down.
