Hi. I’m Paul Wilson and I’m enjoying doing stuff that I didn’t have time to do before retiring in 2012. My focus is on the use of computing technology in our collecting activities. By ‘collection’ I mean any one or more things, in the same or different places, that we designate as a collection. Once designated, we can then do things like add to, organise, use, and show the collection; and it is the impact of Information Technology (IT) on these activities that is explored in this website, summarised in the OFC tutorial, and discussed in detail in Collecting in the Icon Age (see below).
To read the entries in this blog, remember that latest posts are at the top – if you want to get the story as it happened start at the bottom.
NB. Readers are advised to access the site with a landscape layout, which should enable you to see the topic menu in a sidebar on the right. If you can’t see the menu, look for it somewhere below here.
